Martin has had an eclectic career, starting off in the music business as a recording engineer in London, before eventually moving to New York and opening his own studio there. It was at this time that he saw the impact that digital was going to have on recorded music, and returned to the UK to work in this new area.
Initially working as a consultant, Martin became General Manager of Fingertips, an online service making recommendations to a new market of consumers looking to the internet for entertainment. After a period at BT’s media consulting practice, the opportunity arose to start a new consultancy with his friend and former colleague Fred Bassett, helping companies navigate the world of digital. Blue Latitude was born.
Fifteen years on, they have grown the business into a strategic healthcare consultancy and agency.
Running Blue Latitude Health takes up much of Martin’s life, but the remainder is spent with his loving wife and family of four boys. And although Martin left the music industry almost 20 years ago, music remains a big part of his life. He still plays, including as the bass player in Blue Latitude Health’s own house band The Pharmacist.
