Martin is responsible for making sure that we have the necessary resources available to exceed the expectations of our clients, and as such, he spends much of his time building relationships with both clients and suppliers. Within the senior management team, he makes sure that we have the systems and processes in place to ensure that we are operating efficiently and effectively.
Martin has had a varied career, starting off in the music business as a recording engineer working in various studios in London with an ambition of becoming a successful producer. This led him to the USA, where he continued to produce and record music and where he opened his own recording studios in New York. It was at this time that he recognised that impact that ‘digital’ was going to have in recorded music and returned to the UK to work in this new media.
Initially working as a consultant, Martin became General Manager of Fingertips, an online service making recommendations to a new market of consumers looking to the internet to meet their entertainment needs. After a period running BT’s media consulting practice, the opportunity arose to start a new consultancy with his friend and ex-colleague Fred Bassett, helping companies navigate their way through the world of digital, and Blue Latitude was born. 13 years on, they have grown the business into a strategic healthcare consultancy and agency.
Running Blue Latitude Health takes up much of his life, but the remainder is consumed by Martin's loving wife and family of four boys. Although he left the music industry almost 20 years ago, music still plays an important role in his life and he has recently started playing again (you can see him playing the bass in Blue Latitude Health's own house band 'The Pharmacist'). At least for now…purely for fun!
